Abstract

Analysis of scapegoating beliefs in Kurdish literature and popular culture

Abstract

Scapegoating beliefs from an important part of people's beliefs in any society. These beliefs have a special place among the Kurdish people. Therefore, the current research studies and analyzes these beliefs and tries to analyze cases such as scapegoating to ward off disease, death, natural disasters, dangerous animals, Evil eyes, Al (Demon) and demonomania. Identifying these beliefs is the reason for their application and analysis, one of the goals of this research. The research method is descriptive- analytical. Data have been collected in library and field method and analyzed through content analysis technique. The results show that the scapegoating beliefs of the Kurdish people are based on the two laws of homeopathy and contact, and some of them have taken a new form in parallel with the religious beliefs in such a way that they are used for different purposes.
