An introduction to Semantic defamiliarization in the poetry of Sazegar, Ensani, Amiri Esfandagheh, Latifian and Borqhaei

Abstract

Semantic defamiliarization in literary work is one of the methods of renewing and dehabiting the traditional components that the predecessors were committed to. Repetition of traditional traditions and methods causes the literary work to become vulgar. To get out of this vulgarity, the poet uses norm avoidance. One of the types of norm avoidance is semantic norm avoidance. The use of imaginary images such as simile, allusion, metaphor, and personification, as well as the use of innovative spiritual techniques such as rhetorical question, exaggeration, synaesthesia, and paradox, are components of semantic deviance. In this research, by using the qualitative analysis method, we have tried to analyze and investigate the semantic non-normative components in the poetry of Gholamreza Sazegar, Ali Ensani, Alireza Amiri Esfandagheh, Ali Akbar Latifian and Seyed Hamidreza Borqhaei. The results of this research show that in the poetry of the mentioned poets, from imaginary forms such as simile, especially preferential simile, metaphor, especially explicit metaphor, allusion, especially by using colloquial interpretations, and recognition by attributing human actions and actions to irrational or It has been used by attributing one of the human features such as hands and feet to a non-living being. The use of figures of speech such as paradox, rhetorical question, and exaggeration has caused the audience to marvel and create new meaning. Attributing one sense to another is a subtler way to create new and non-normative meanings, which has been less frequent among the mentioned poets.
