In recent decades, scholars of Ta’zieh have examined Shabih’khani and its texts from their own perspectives. They have consistently acknowledged the influence of literature, mythology and Iranian folk culture on their formation either before or after Islam. Accepting this matter, this paper explores the thoughts that Shabih’khani scriptwriters have directly or indirectly adopted. The study explores what influence the beliefs and ideas of Shiite Ghulat (extremists) had on the scriptwriters of Shabih’khani performances. In doing so, the study examines the influence of Shiite extremists’ beliefs and ideas on three Shabih’khani scripts about Imam Ali: The Assembly of the Kaaba-Born, The Corner of the Chivalrous Butcher and The Assembly of Binding the Demon’s Thumb. The Shiite extremist were early Islamic figures who attributed divinity or prophethood to Imam Ali and his descendants. In addition to fabricating false narratives about the Prophet’s Household, they excessively exaggerated their descriptions. The Shiite Imams repeatedly condemned and rejected the beliefs of this group. Exaggeration and overstatement in depicting Shiite Imams are evident in most Shabih’khani texts, particularly in the versions analyzed in this study. This research holds a descriptive-analytical approach. The findings are categorized into five main characteristics: unsubstantiated narratives, extraordinary events and miracles, divinity, celestial angel, and mythical beings.
