The Khayyam-reciting ritual, as one of the most beautiful and prominent manifestations of the regional culture and art of the Persian Gulf coast and Bushehr, is a ritual with a long history that is shaped by music, drumming, and the reading of Khayyam's poems by Neyshaburi, accompanied by the sounds of instruments such as the "double reed" and the "flute". On the one hand, Khayyam's Rubaiyat, due to its inclusion of themes such as the impermanence of life and the invisibility of human destiny, disregard and forgetting past suffering, living in the present and disregarding the difficulties of life and considering it simple, and on the other hand, its conformity and convergence with the principles and way of life of the people who have been influenced by Khayyam's beliefs and philosophy, has paved the way for the people of Bushehr province to turn to the Rubaiyat of this famous poet and transform it into a special and unique type of indigenous and local music of this region. This research was conducted with an ethnographic approach and in a descriptive-analytical manner, and field findings and library resources were used to conduct it. The present research was conducted due to the importance of the problem of finding answers to the reasons for the popularity and authenticity of Khayyam reading in Bushehr and Khayyam’s position among the people of this region.
