Abstract The concept of plant-ancestry, as an element with unique characteristics, is closely linked to anthropology and the human relationship with nature. This study examines the influence of the belief in plant-ancestry on people's lives and its role in various cultural and religious rituals within Iranian society. Special attention is given to the customs and traditions involving sacred and symbolic plants in religious and cultural ceremonies. Using a qualitative and descriptive-analytical approach, the research explores the impact of the belief in the sanctity of plants and vegetal deities in the conduct of festivals, mourning rituals, and other ceremonial practices in Iran. The main body of the article investigates various dimensions of this belief and analyzes its significance in people's lives and their ritualistic worldviews. The data for this study were gathered through books, scholarly articles, and the authors' observations of different ceremonies to provide a deeper understanding of the topic. The findings indicate that plant-ancestry plays a significant role not only in religious and spiritual aspects but also in shaping social and cultural relationships. Based on historical sources, these beliefs and ritual uses of plants have contributed to the strengthening of cultural identity and social bonds among community members and have had a profound impact on collective spirit and individual spirituality.
