In Iranian mythological beliefs, existence is based on the foundation of good and evil And is a constant war between the two forces of good and evil, The main motif of mythological stories is also based on this, and by aligning myth with history, historical events can be examined from this perspective and their place in the general culture of society can be analyzed. In this article, the event of Ashura and the conflict between Husayn ibn Ali and Yazid's army are examined based on the goodness and evil of the myth. This study was conducted by analyzing the book "Manzomeh Ashura" by Omid Majd using a descriptive-analytical method. The confrontation between the Imam and Yazid is seen in the components of the existence and creation of the two groups, family relationships and the behavior of the characters based on being good or bad, the debate between good and evil in the confrontation between Muslim ibn Aqil and Ibn Ziyad and the Imam's army and Yazid's army, and mourning for the Imam. In the analysis based on the foundation of goodness and evil of the myth, the results of the research show that Imam Hussein and his army faced Yazid's army with a good nature, and Yazid's actions with a bad nature and conflict with the Imam created the incident of Karbala. And finally, the Imam became a martyr, and in our religious culture, it is in line with mythological beliefs regarding the martyred god, .
