The majority of Muhammad ibn Husam Khusfi's poetry, a 9th-century Shi'ite poet, focuses on the virtues and praises of the Ahl al-Bayt (the Prophet's family). His Diwan (collection of poems) encompasses a significant compilation of important Shi'ite hadiths. The present study, utilizing a descriptive-analytical method, addresses the following questions: What types of talmi' are present in Ibn Husam's diwan? What themes do they convey, and what objectives did Ibn Husam pursue in employing them? The study shows that the most frequent allusions employed in Ibn Hussam's diwan are of the Quranic and hadith types. Ibn Hussam's Shiite faith and his sincere belief in the guardianship of Mawla Ali (peace be upon him) led him to take hadiths referring to the lofty status of Ali (peace be upon him) and the issue of his succession as the subject matter for many of the allusions in his Diwan. His hadith allusions revolve around five semantic themes: 1- Attributes of the Prophet (peace be upon him) and his lofty status, 2- Attributes of Ali (peace be upon him), 3- The issue of the Prophet's succession, 4- Hadiths of the Prophet, 5- Hadiths of Ali (peace be upon him). On the other hand, Ibn Hussam's contented life led to the high frequency of hadiths with the theme of contentment and satisfaction in his diwan. A few highly recurring words in Ibn Hussam Khusfi's diwan are "Ali", "wali", "Dhu'l-Fiqar", and "la fata".
