The present study aims to examine and analyze the representation of the concept of “resistance” in the ritual poems of Heyat Ayin Hosseini in Tehran, following the “Al-Aqsa Storm” event. This research adopts a qualitative approach and uses thematic analysis, based on the collection and examination of the texts of the poems and elegies of this Heyat. The data were coded and analyzed at three levels: basic, organizing, and overarching themes. Findings indicate that the ritual poems of Heyat Ayin Hosseini represent a network of meanings, the most important of which are the historical connection between Ashura and contemporary resistance, reliance on Quranic themes and religious legitimization of resistance, martyr centrality and hero-making, emphasis on oppression, Palestine-centeredness, and eschatological hope. The metaphorical, epic, and recitative language in these poems plays a fundamental role in transforming mourning emotions into identity-driven and resistance-oriented action. By combining Ashura-related themes with the representation of Islamic resistance, the poems guide the audience from mere mourning to active engagement in the field of resistance narration. Analyses show that Heyat Ayin Hosseini is not only a ritual institution but also a cultural-media actor that contributes to consolidating and promoting the representation of resistance in contemporary cultural space through the production and depiction of these texts. Accordingly, ritual poetry in the Heyat becomes a collective medium for recreating and representing the meaning of resistance in the form of ritual and emotion.
